St Paul’s Cathedral

The Cathedral is home to the tombs of great historical figures such as Lord Nelson and the Duke of Wellington. TIP: Climb the 530 step from the Cathedral floor to the Golden Gallery, also known as the Whispering Gallery, for panoramic views of London.

Windsor Castle

Located just outside London, it is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. It has been the official residence of the British sovereign for over 900 years and the amazing State Apartments are a favorite with London tourists.

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Chelsea

Restaurant Gordon Ramsey is owned and operated by Gordon Ramsey. It opened in 1998 as his first solo restaurant. It gained its third Michelin star in 2001, making Gordon Ramsay the first Scottish chef to have done so. Current head chef, Clare Smyth, was appointed in January 2008 and is the only female chef in the UK to hold three Michelin stars.

Clare’s menu features classic restaurant Gordon Ramsay dishes she has made her own. Her style is modern French, using the very finest seasonal ingredients and employing both classic and modern techniques. She has created a loyal and adoring customer base for her award winning cuisine. The restaurant is open Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner.

Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester

Alain Ducasse has created a timeless spot at The Dorchester in Mayfair, constantly pushing the boundaries of excellence in cooking, décor, and creativity. The chef, Jocelyn Herland, delivers an original, creative and novel interpretation of the masterful cooking of Alain Ducasse. The restaurant offers french cuisine, incorporating the very best produce selected from France and Great Britain. It is well known for its contemporary harmony, refined cuisine, attention to detail and exquisite surroundings. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Friday and for dinner on Saturday.

Weather

London has one of the mildest climates in the UK, but the weather can be unpredictable. Londoners get used to carrying both an umbrella and sunglasses to be prepared for all eventualities!

The number of rainy days (with more than 0.25mm of rainfall) is fairly consistent throughout the year, with between 11 and 15 rainy days every month. Overall rainfall is highest in November and August (64 mm and 59mm respectively) and is lowest in March and April (37mm each).

Summer

Summer can be very pleasant with temperatures averaging 18°C (64°F) and often into the low 20 degrees. In recent years London has experienced heat waves with temperatures well above 30°C (86°F). This is an ideal time to visit London’s parks.

Spring and Autumn

Spring and Autumn see temperatures of around 11° to 15°C (52 to 59°F). Evenings are lighter for longer with the advent of the “British Summer Time” at the end of March until end October.

Winter

Typical temperatures for Winter are between 2 and 6°C (36 to 43°F). Temperatures don’t often drop below freezing and snow isn’t common – although occasionally London does experience heavy snowfall. Don’t miss the stunning Christmas decorations in London or the fireworks on New Year’s Eve.
