Onguma The Fort
The Fort is unlike any other, the only one of its kind in Namibia.
It is built in exactly the right spot to give guests probably one of the best sunset views in the whole of Namibia - overlooking the beautiful scarceness of the Etosha Pans, decorated only with its wild animals and hundreds of Camel Thorn trees.
Upon arriving at The Fort, you will be received by not only our friendly staff, but also massive raw walls, stunning stone cladded features and a huge tower with views toward Etosha and Fisher's Pan. The Fort will surprise you at every corner; a classical African feel combined with a touch of Moroccan and Indian flavours, characterised by a selection of the most beautiful antique windows and doors.
Rooms
Bush Camp
Onguma Bush Camp consists of five twin bedded standard rooms which includes three rooms with a children’s sleep area in the loft, six twin bedded Waterhole/Pool-Side Rooms, three Rondavels, one family unit with four beds, one Settler’s Room (formerly the honeymoon suite) as well as two single tour guide rooms. The Waterhole/Pool-Side Rooms are built with views of the newly enlarged waterhole or views across the pool.
Etosha Aoba
The lodge consists of four free standing Heritage Bungalows with air-conditioning, three Bush Suites that each have two rooms with an inter-leading bathroom that can accommodate four adults. Three new Explorer Bungalows have been added and each boast privacy and seclusion. We have a Honeymoon Bungalow that is extremely private and secluded with both an outdoor shower and bath!
Tented Camp
An atmosphere of elegant dining prevails, complimented by the daily activities taking place around the watering hole, approximately 60 meters away. The surrounding nature lends itself to long lazy afternoons, spent relaxing on the sofas in the lounge, watching the animals go. And when things heat up, all that is required is a gentle stroll to the rim flow pool. Sit and relax in the flowing waters while enjoying an ice cold cooler. Alternatively if more strenuous activity is required, then relaxing on your patio and reading a good book should provide you with all the exercise you may need.
The Fort
The Fort consists of 11 mini Suites and one honeymoon Suite, all situated adjacent to the Main Fort extending on both sides to the south and the north. Every mini Suite is completely private and about 50 meters apart from one another and is equipped with a bar fridge, and an air cooling system for those warmer days. The spacious bathroom has both an inside shower as well as an outside shower area. From every area of the room, wooden decks lead you towards the outside seating area and sun loungers for just relaxing and enjoying the extraordinary view.
Tree Top
The Camp is built on wooden stilts amongst the tree tops with full views over one of the most beautiful watering holes on Onguma Game Reserve. The Camp consists of four thatched rooms with canvas walls, outside showers, a dining room and a main complex.
Bush Suite
The Fort consists of 11 Bush Suites, all situated adjacent to the Main Fort extending on both sides to the south and the north. Every Bush Suite is completely private and about 50 meters apart from one another and is equipped with a bar fridge, and an air-conditioner for those warmer days. The spacious bathroom has both an inside shower as well as an outside shower area. From every area of the room, wooden decks lead you towards the outside seating area and sun loungers for just relaxing and enjoying the extraordinary view.
Sultan Suite
The one and only Sultan Suite is situated inside the Main Tower of the main complex. It has a large beautifully designed bedroom that leads into a lounge area and out onto a small private viewing deck. The lounge is equipped with a satellite television system, a bar fridge and telephone facilities. And for those warm evenings, you have an air-conditioner as well. The large bathroom has a wonderful open shower area, as well as a bath in which to relax and reflect upon your day’s experiences.
Honeymoon Suite
The Fort consists of 11 Bush Suites and 1 honeymoon Suite, all situated adjacent to the Main Fort extending on both sides to the south and the north.
