Rooms
Breakers Suite
Like The Breakers Italian Renaissance summer villa itself, the Hotel Viking's new Breakers Suite is its grandest and largest. Guests who have the opportunity to luxuriate in this opulent suite may feel like a Vanderbilt of yesteryear during their stay. The main parlor features a formal dining area with a chandelier, focal point fireplace, wood parquet floors, hand-knotted area rug and elaborate tassel-trimmed drapery. Greens, pale corals, creams and caramel hues are used to accentuate the regal furnishings showcased by chinoiserie and gold and silver detailing. The Breakers Suite features a separate master bedroom and a private adjacent guest bedroom with its own sitting area - accommodations ideal for a family and formal Newport entertaining at its best.
Kingscote Suite
In a freshly-conceived salute to Kingscote, the Gothic Revival-style Newport "cottage" landmark, this suite's personality is a mixture of elements from the East and West - dark, elaborately ornate furniture, balanced by Chinese accents of black lacquer and porcelains, as well as pine plank floors and aged brick walls. Dark hunter greens, rich burgundy, deep bronzes and rich velvets, needlepoint and tapestries have been used throughout the suite.
Manor Guestroom
Romantic and luxurious, these rooms feature beautiful period inspired furniture and the décor of Newport's Gilded Age. Pillow top mattresses are draped with Egyptian cotton bed linens and a rich satin duvet. Rooms feature built in cherry wardrobes, reminiscent of those found in elegant manor houses. In addition, LCD televisions are in every room. Beveled glass doors lead into the bathrooms which feature large showers wrapped in 'pillow' carved marble along with rain head showers.
Marble House Suite
Luxuriously appointed with rich tapestries, silks and velvets, the Marble House Suite is reminiscent of the Gilded Age of Newport. One can picture Alva Vanderbilt relaxing on the pillow top, triple sheeted bed. The marble bathroom with a porcelain claw foot bathtub and pillowed marbled glass enclosed shower affords a relaxing spa like atmosphere. Relax on the oversized sofa and enjoy the glow of the fireplace surrounded in marble.
Newport Guestroom
An addition to the hotel in the 1960's, the Newport Rooms offer guests a cozy accommodation with a nod to the Progressive Era. Rich textures, subtle hues and generous elements of progressive décor contribute to the Newport experience, while still offering all of the modern luxuries and technologies we've come to enjoy in the 21st century.
Bellevue Suite
Located throughout the Newport Wing, our Bellevue Suites provide a lovely 'Progressive era' charm with all your modern comforts. The soft color palate creates the perfect environment for business or pleasure. These suites feature one and a half bathrooms, two closets, LCD TVs, and more. The living room separate from the bedroom features a pull-out queen size sleeper sofa which makes it perfect for families.
Estate Guestroom
Reminiscent of the great Newport estates, these traditional guestrooms offer elegant ambiance infused with comfort and luxury. Featuring rich satin duvets and Egyptian cotton linens on all the pillow-top mattresses. These rooms offer all the modern amenities such as LCD TV's, iron and ironing board, air conditioning and hairdryer. The luxurious marble bathrooms with rain shower heads feature Lather amenities. These rooms are approximately 320sq ft and have a maximum occupancy of 2. *Due to the historic nature of the hotel these room sizes may vary.
One Bedroom Viking Suite
The Viking Wing includes ten completely redesigned One Bedroom Viking Suites. Each suite is individually designed to capture the essence of one of Newport's famous mansions, and each is named accordingly from the Chateau to the Marble House to Rosecliff. These distinctive suites, whether they are highlighted with appointments reflecting French Rococo to Victorian, also have their own unique "parlors" - seating areas replete with lush furniture, wood flooring and oriental area carpets. To complete the tribute to a specific regal house, books and photos of the families who once enjoyed a grand life in these coveted homes retell the history of each commemorated mansion. Guests are certain to dream special dreams as they become immersed in the persona of their "own mansion." Some will want to go "Hotel Viking Suite Hopping" as they plan their future stays!
Estate Fireside Guestroom
The Estate Fireside Rooms, located in the original wings of the hotel, offer guests an authentic piece of history. Inspired by the Gilded Age, each guestroom is fashioned in rich fabrics and textures, with pillowed marble showers accentuating the bath area. As authentic articles of Newport history, the Estate Rooms allow our guests the quintessential Newport experience.
Premier Junior Suite
Our Premier Junior Suites are oversized and spacious accommodations, with elegant furnishings reminiscent of an English country inn. Large fabric drapes separate the sleeping and living areas. Marbled bathrooms and classic artwork add a touch of grace to these luxurious accommodations.
