Cancun

Resting on the northeast corner of the Mexican Caribbean, a Mexican city on the Yucatán Peninsula, Cancun was built on a site selected as the ideal spot for a new tourist development. It is composed of 21 kilometers of pristine white beaches shaped like a number "7", home of the Mayan archaeological wonders, turquoise seas, a bountiful underwater world, and world-class vacation amenities.

It is still considered the gateway to the Mayan World (El Mundo Maya). Mayan temples and ritual sites are everywhere, some smothered by lush jungle, others easily accessible. You can enjoy the many activities Cancun has to offer such as a day trip to Isla Mujeres, a dolphin swim, a fun day at one of the two waterparks Cancun has or market shopping. Cancun has something for all ages!

There are many restaurants around, including La Parrilla, Los Pericos, Los Arcos, El Timtnhehdon de Cancun, Va que Va; all of them are really good restaurants, shopping centers like Plaza Las Americas, Plaza la Isla in Hotel Zone, Plaza Outlet, Mercado 28 y 23 markets and clubs in the downtown area that you can visit during your stay such as Cocobongo, Dady'O, Palazzo and Mandala. Get your eating, shopping and dancing in while vacationing here!

Weather
Cancun enjoys a tropical savanna climate with a very distinctive wet and dry season. Average temperatures vary very little throughout the year, typically ranging between 23°C (73°F) in the middle of winter and 28°C (82°F) in the middle of summer, rarely dropping below 21°C (70°F) or exceeding 34°C (93°F). The most popular time to visit Cancun is during the dry season – November to April – when temperatures are slightly cooler and the relative amount of rainfall is low. The wet season – May to October – is slightly hotter and sees significantly more rainfall. Of the average 1,227mm of rainfall that Cancun gets each year, around 984mm of it falls during these months. And like most resort areas in the Caribbean, Cancun gets hit with a really severe hurricane every 10 to 20 years. Hurricane season is typically from August through October or November and can happen outside those times too.
