Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas, a resort city on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, has been rated as one of Mexico’s top 5 tourist destinations. It is known for its white beaches, fecund waters, water-based activities and nightlife. Where else do clubs round up conga lines so that waiters can pour tequila down dancers’ throats?

The activities are endless: jet-skiing, banana-boating, parasailing, snorkeling, kitesurfing, diving and horseback-riding can all be found just by walking down to the beach. Playa El Médano is Cabo’s main beach, with outdoor restaurants and numerous bars.

Past the marina is Land’s End promontory, site of Playa del Amor (Lover’s Beach) and El Arco, a natural archway in the seacliffs that have become the backdrop for Baja's most raucous tourism. Cabo houses a range of wildlife, including rays, sharks, birds, and a range of fish, such as mahi-mahi (dorado), and striped marlin. Even in the winter, pods of whales can be observed in the area. They bear their calves in the warm waters of the Gulf of California after completing their 6000-mile migration from Alaska and Siberia.

If you’re wanting a night out on the town or looking for a delicious meal, check out one of these clubs or restaurants. Clubs in Cabo include the Cabo Wabo Cantina, the Baja Brewing Company (also the first microbrewery in Baja California), Pink Kitty Nightclub, Mandala, El Squid Roe, Giggling Marlin, Nowhere Bar, Tiki Bar, the Usual Suspects and the Jungle Bar. Restaurants in downtown Cabo include Edith's, Hacienda Cocina y Cantina, and Sunset da Mona Lisa. You can’t go wrong partying at one of these well-known clubs or enjoying a meal in town.

Weather
The year-round warm temperatures are one of the main attractions for people traveling to Cabo. Average summer temperatures are 65°F (18°C) lows and 95°F (35°C) highs. Average winter temperatures are 60°F (15°C) lows and 75°F (24°C) highs. The one weather problem which occasionally plagues Cabo San Lucas is a series of tropical storms which hit the area in the latter months of the summer each year. However, these storms rarely affect Cabo San Lucas directly, usually staying out in the ocean or hitting the shores in areas surrounding Cabo San Lucas instead of hitting Cabo San Lucas directly. Generally, these storms cause a bit of rain in the area which tends to last for only a short period of time before the sun is out and shining again and the beaches are re-filled with throngs of people. The sea temperature experiences lows of 70–72°F (21–22 °C) in winter, and highs of 82–84°F (28–29 °C) during the summer months.
