Jamaica, the third largest Caribbean island, has a lush topography of mountains, rainforests and reef-lined beaches. You can go for a hike up Blue Mountain, housing the island’s highest point – Blue Mountain Peak, sitting at 2,256 feet about sea level.

Jamaica is famed as the birthplace of reggae music, and its capital Kingston is home to the Bob Marley Museum, dedicated to the famous singer. If you spend a week in Jamaica, you’ll understand why Bob Marley sang one of his famous songs, “Everything’s gonna be alright.”

The official language is Jamaican Standard English however, the primary spoken language is an English-based creole called Jamaican Patois. Jamaica’s currency is the Jamaican dollar which is not equivalent to the American dollar.
